Bread Interpretation Centre

This old bakery, which in 2007 was transformed into the Bread Interpretation Centre, continues to serves its purpose as a meeting place and a place of knowledge, despite the women no longer coming in shifts to bake their bread by hand and gather around the fire.
The vivid journey through this exhibition takes us from the wheat harvest all the way through to the baking of the bread. The loaves, cakes and baked goods are nothing more than exact replicas which remind us of the endearing method, touch, sounds, smells and flavours that once ran through this place, passing from generation to generation to feed their dreams.
This workroom is a site where we can get lost in the memories of the indigenous way of life and bring to life this journey to the past and to our roots, without even noticing the vertigo of time.
